As long as the scammers are dumb like the case in question, the vast majority of crypto users are safe. It's a situation of "dumb and dumber"! You have to be dumber than the scammer to be scammed, and that was almost impossible in this case.

Probably they were successful in using the method before. We never know since he might have used a different address for each scam attempt. Even though it looks dumb to us, new people on the internet might have fallen for such a scam. We have seen scammers email random people saying they have nude videos or some private kind of stuff. That scam method was a viral topic on Reddit a few years ago. Still, people fall for that scams. I remember I checked one of the scammer's addresses, and he got some payment from the victims. That means few people still might be "dumber" than this "dumb" scammer.
