This is really big. Arsenal is trying to create its own record by sending a very high bid for rice.
Arsenal have submitted a fresh bid for Declan Rice, as reported by David Ornstein. The offer is said to total £100 million ($127.5m) plus £5m ($6.4m) in add-ons - making it a record for a British player.
That honour is currently held by Rice's England team-mate Jack Grealish, who completed a £100m move to Manchester City from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021. The Gunners have been fighting it out with City for the midfielder all summer and it remains to be seen if West Ham will finally accept this latest proposal.
https://www.goal.com/en/news/live/transfer-news-and-rumours-live/blt1ccfda38eda06d5aI can't even describe how crazy arsenal is right now. Im very happy to see the competition between arsenal and manchester city is coming to the peak. I would say that if arsenal is really obsessed to get rice from westham.
I hope that this offer will not be rejecting by westham. it seems like that arteta needs rice so much.
Honestly I don't think Manchester city will match Arsenal’s bid. Getting Rice is more important to Arsenal to reach that next level than it is to them, they already have Rodri and wouldn't want to break their transfer record for a position they don't desperately need. I have never seen Arsenal go above £100m for a player, which means that the size of the latest Arsenal bid speaks volume of how much they want Rice, if he indeed wants to join them, he should tell West ham to be flexible and allow the deal go through.
West Ham are holding out for a 100 million euro bid for Rice who has made 245 appearances for the club. It remains to be seen who will win the race for the midfielder's signature. True, I don't think Manchester City are interested in Declan Rice because they already have Rodri and I don't think Guardiola really needs two defensive midfielders. Arsenal have made two bids which are likely to be as high as 100 million euros, so Arsenal make more sense in my opinion. Not because they are better than Manchester City but they are more interested and need it more. Rice would suit Arsenal's way of playing in a defensive midfield role, protecting the back four and providing solidity. This is what Arsenal need to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League and I think Declan Rice will consider his departure.
