when people give you advice, their intention may be good for you, but unknowingly to them that they have temporarily or permanently made you lose a lifetime opportunity that's if you listen to their advice. after listening to individual advice, it is your duty and decision as a person to filter the advice before making use of the ones you see that will be helpful to you. There is no harm in trying new ideas, just imagine, if I had attempted such innovations, even if is with a small amount of money, may be by now I would have been rich.
It’s not bad listening other people advice especially if they are successful in life. I will take all day Elon Musk advice if he will give me some.

The point is, You can get experience and knowledge on story of other successful person and add it to our own personal knowledge to make our finacial journey better. This applicable on Bitcoin too. If some random guy or friend that nothing to prove or not even successful give you an advice then don’t bother thinking about it because their advice doesn't have any value.
In my experience, I start on Bitcoin by being victim of ponzi and mlm scam which I thought that is a good a source of income since no one give me an advice about danger on crypto. I loss a lot and learned a lot in exchange. I think you can avoid this kind of painful part of your journey if you can have someone that can give you a valuable advice.
