By the way, it's still a mystery, what actually happened and why.
This whole event was definitely the weirdest thing this year. One theory I heard which sounded interesting was that Putin wanted to remove a potential future threat to Russia this is also why he has been removing all extremists from the military and his cabinet in general. The last piece of the puzzle was the Wagner group which they said they must only operate under the Russian military's command from now on.
I do not think that the last theory is valid for verification as much as it resembles a trap to trap them all, especially since all reports indicate that Russia does not know who these fighters are or their nationalities because they are supposed to be mercenaries. This is in addition to the fact that the process of containing this group, if it actually happened, would prove Russia’s official involvement in all the operations carried out by Wagner in various regions around the world, such as Syria, Libya and Venezuela, which Russia has always denied since it does not officially support the Wagner group as a private military company, since Russian laws do not allow this.
Laws in Russia are written for the people, the government itself has not been fulfilling them for a long time. The attack on Ukraine clearly proved this. Until recently, Putin managed both the government and the State Duma in manual mode. The war of defeat in Ukraine, and especially the last failed campaign of the Wagnerites against Moscow, showed that Putin is losing power and authority, and is no longer in control of events in Russia.
PMC "Wagner" is a state military unit, which has always been funded from the budget. Since the Wagnerites, led by Prigozhin, did not want to sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense and showed defiance and relative independence, Putin was recently forced to announce data that 196 billion rubles were allocated from the budget for the Wagner PMC in the last year alone. This military unit was formed to carry out military operations outside of Russia, where Russia, as a state, did not want to act openly. But heavy military losses in Ukraine forced this unit to be transferred to Ukraine as well. And mercenarism in Russia is still prohibited.
