The 2023/2024 season will be Xavi's second season as Barcelona coach. Xavi continues to develop the team to appear more competitive next season. Barcelona made a surprise by winning La Liga in the 2022/2023 season. Xavi managed to bring Barcelona to be much more consistent than other rival teams in the league. One of the keys to winning Barca is the quality of a high level of defense. Marc-Andre ter Stegen has appeared solid under the crossbar with the most clean sheets recorded in a Spanish League season. Winning the league in the first season has been an impressive record for Xavi. Even so, last season Barca failed miserably in European competition, thrown from the Champions League to the Europa League, then eliminated.

As a result of failing in European competition last season, Barcelona will set a higher target for next season. Xavi also began to finalize his squad for next season by bringing in a number of new players.
