I think having a trio of Mbappe, Messi and Neymar was PSG's biggest chance to go for their first Champions League title finally. However they didn't show the same performance about their manager choice. I was really not waiting for them to sign a manager like Galtier who didn't have a successful career. This was a really big risk to take for PSG.
They took this risk and it resulted in really badly just as I expected. Galtier was even contented with that season just because of winning the Ligue 1 title. But this wasn't a big success for PSG as they were winning this title most of the time already due to its being easy for them.
Finally they have a much more successful manager like Luis Enrique now but the problem is that his game plan is quite different. I'm really curious about what they will do next season with this new system and without the same trio as well.
It's a shame that Luis Enrique arrival, who was appointed as PSG coach, is called too late, because if the trio were still there, maybe PSG's results could have been better in the Champions League last season. As we know, Luis Enrique is very suitable to lead PSG. Now, this will be quite interesting when Luis Enrique designed the PSG squad from the start, all he has to do is build the squad as ideal as possible. Huge financial support certainly makes his job easier, so buying some quality players is no doubt. When PSG was coached by Galtier there were still many things that were not perfect, for example Galtier was not able to design a suitable game strategy in combining the trio of Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar. I mean the three players still look awkward and still keep their distance from each other and there is often a little friction. No wonder because all three have their own reputations that must continue to stand out.
Personally, I think PSG's owners should learn from Manchester City's example.
Both clubs have very rich owners, but Manchester City is still a more successful club than PSG. Why is that so?
Why did Manchester City finally manage to win the Champions League and PSG not even though they have three of the best footballers in the world, Mbappe, Neymar and Messi?
It is not enough to just bring the best players, you also need to have a top coach who will know how to create a strong team, as Pep for example.
Also, long-term systematic work and vision are needed, and PSG does not have that. How many coaches have they changed in recent years?
What about Manchester City?
