OT: Did Elon just effectively shut down Twitter? I can't reach any of the tweets I want to see. Is this somehow France-related?
Alternatively, if he wants to make it a closed little pond, good riddance.

Elon Musk said Saturday that Twitter users will only be able to read a certain number of posts per day due to “extreme levels of data scraping” and “system manipulation” on the platform.
Many users who tried to access or post content on Twitter’s website or mobile app Saturday were met with a “Rate limit exceeded” or “Cannot retrieve tweets” error message.
As of 11 a.m. ET, more than 7,300 people reported issues with Twitter to the website Downdetector.

Though in all fairness it seems you have already 'viewed' 600 tweets in 24 hrs, with all due respect may I suggest to take a break and go out for a walk  Grin

I believe that scrolling through replies also counts as viewing tweets.

It has also posited that perhaps Elon (and I'm paraphrasing here) has fucked around and found out wrt payment of accounts.

" Elon Musk Is Playing a Dangerous Game With Google and Amazon. Here Are 3 Ways It Could Backfire

Twitter has stopped paying for its Google Cloud services, the Silicon Valley news site Platformer reports. Twitter apparently stopped paying Amazon for its Amazon Web Services contract back in March.

While refusing to pay Amazon may not make much difference for Twitters' users, the decision to stop paying for Google Cloud is a different matter. That could negatively affect everyone's experience on Twitter, because the software that blocks spam, fraud, overly violent content, and other objectionable stuff is hosted on Google Cloud. Not only that, the decision to stop paying its cloud providers could potentially cost Twitter hundreds of millions of dollars in lost advertising revenue.

It looks very much like Elon Musk is attempting to play hardball with two companies that are among the biggest, most powerful, and hardest to intimidate in the world. It will be interesting to watch how all this plays out. My prediction? Twitter will wind up paying its bills sooner or later. It's a lesson for every business leader in the realities of contracts and commitments, and how, if you're going to play the tough guy, you should choose your opponents with care...

... 2. Twitter could become even less stable than it is now.
