Right now there's no chance that Saudi Pro League would be as competitive as any of the top leagues in Europe. Quite rightly they are alluring players from Europe, but most of them are either old and past their peak, or they aren't just good enough players, mind you that the Saudi Pro league is yet to allure a world class player that is in his prime.

Having said that, remember that what the Saudi's are trying to do right now is somewhat similar to what the Chinese Super league did a couple of years ago, but we all saw how it ended, i wouldn't rule it out to end the same way for the Saudi's.
It will still be different between the Suadi Professional League and other European leagues, however competitive the European league will be, it will outperform it in football.
It is true that the players are already at the peak of their careers, so they will receive offers from the SPL. This is still very reasonable if there are many players who move to this league.

We'll see if the Saudi Professional League will suffer the same fate as the Chinese Super League or will they last a long time and spend a lot of money?
What is interesting is that SPL clubs never stop bringing in European players.

No doubt the Saudi Arabia pro league is not as competitive as the  European league yet, but as day go by, there are indications that they really wants to improve, by bring in good stars and coaches that will help to build the league to be as competitive as the European league. By next season,the league will gain more tv right to show it national wide. once its been show on some international sport stations, be rest assured that the league will be as competitive as European leagues.

Just as Ronaldo Prophesied that in the next five years, the Saudi Arabia will be in top five league in the world, with look of things, it will not be up to five years, things are changing so fast. it might take them just three years. to be top five league in the world. players are now considering the league offers than other European clubs. by the end of the Transfer window, they will have a high numbers of Europe star players in he league.
