In as much as I don't want to sound like one who doesn't want to see Paris Saint Germaine lift the UEFA Champions League trophy, it is also expected of me to voice out my opinion about the possibility of the French champions winning the UEFA Champions League.
After Lionel Messi's arrival at the club two years ago, PSG's attacking line up that consists Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe were expected win the UEFA Champions League competition but they failed to do it despite the kind of quality players at the club's disposal. I don't PSG stands a chance to win the Champions League anytime soon especially in the coming 2023/24 season
No, I don't think PSG will be a strong candidate next season. I think other teams are more experienced in this league. PSG were trapped last season in the Champions League, because they have a stronger squad depth because they are strengthened by Messi, Neymar and Mbappe as well as a great goalkeeper and a strong defense. But the fact is that they had to give up on Bayern Munich last season. Indeed they still have a chance to get a trophy but that is very small considering Manchester city is a stronger team than them next season.
So far, I think Messi departure at the end of this season will also make their front line lose a little sharpness. I think in the Champions League this season the teams that are really in the top right now are Manchester City and Real Madrid and Barcelona. PSG will try to make a big change in the depth of their squad where they get rid of players who are entering their old age by buying good quality players at a younger age. And they will try to make changes to prepare their strength for next season's Champions league.
