This is very interesting news. Chelsea continues to excite the transfer market like last season.
But this time the transfers seem to be more thoughtful. Victor Osimhen is a great player and although £100 million is a huge amount, but Victor Osimhen at least can work them off, in contrast to, for example, Mudrik. Victor Osimhen is in the prime of his career, a great striker, unstoppable for defenders, with a great eye for goal.

Victor Osimhen joining Chelsea will be one of the best transfer Chelsea would have done to boost their squad ahead of next season. 100 million might be a very high amount but with the nature of the player, his market value, expertise in scoring as top striker makes the price a considerable one for any team to bid him for. Victor Osimhen loves Chelsea club from childhood with his role model being former Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba. This deal will be very interesting to watch out for because if he joins Chelsea he won’t be able to play in the champions league next season.

You are absolutely right, the Saudi league now feels like a retirement option for veterans of the game, in the space of one year we have witnessed many top names in Europe moving to the Saudi league. I also fear that soon we will be losing many top stars who use to make european competitions interesting and competitive but it’s one thing to start something and another is to maintain it. Can the Saudi clubs hold on to this level of influence they have now? Or will they lose it and end up as China did.

What led to China losing it at first? Do the Saudi clubs looks like they’ll lose it too in the long run? I doubt it strongly for now. They’re trying to make their league more popular and entertaining to follow just like the European leagues. They’ll work towards that and I’m certain they’ll achieve that since they have the funds to back up the plan for them.
