Given that You don't use Cloudflare or any other cloud-based solutions which I must say I commend you for, how do you plan on mitigating future DDoS attacks which are inevitable. I know of a service that refused to use a DDoS attack protection for probably similar reasons, but their platform is off most of the time disrupting the smooth running of the service.
