I’m looking to invest 10k, I’m trying to decide if to go with XRP or ADA.
In terms of holding I can do it for 1-3 years no real time limit. Not sure what returns I might get short term vs long term. ADA for example i might get 3 to 4 x return, however with XRP that might be a lot more should they win the court case.
My slight worry is what happens if XRP lose.

10k is not a small amount. 10k in my opinion is a big investment. Investing that much money in one token is very risky. So I think you should break down the amount and invest in a few coins to minimize the risk of losing the money.
actually big or small can be seen where we will invest, because with $ 10K invested in bitcoin, you will only get 0.32 BTC, but in ethereum it is only 0.52 ETH. So if you invest in those two coins, it's definitely not big and the risks involved aren't too worrying, because the two coins are the best so far and are very worthy of investment.
if you want the numbers to look large, of course you can invest in the next coin that is ranked below on CMC, once again keep analyzing for other coins, and if possible not too many coins for placement to make it easier to control its movement.
