His contribution to the team in this season of the La Liga was really mesmerizing - 15 goals, 17 assists in 38 matches. He is a really beneficial experienced player so I think they have done the right thing.

But they don't have a top striker like Diego Costa used to be in the past or Griezmann as well before he went to Barcelona, where his performance dropped dramatically.
I still don't understand why it didn't work out that well in Barcelona because he was a top striker in my opinion. He didn't need a lot of chances and when he was in front of the goal alone, it was a goal for Atletico. He lost this confidence when he switched the teams and he also wasn't quite the same when he came back to Atletico. Now at 32 he could have left maybe one or two seasons on a top level, but he also looks like he is less motivated than he was like six or seven years ago.
