Learning it the hard way or learning it from others experienced you needed to assess yourself if you are capable.

If you think you can't afford to lose a lot and you are not willing to do things, that will result in
something worse in life, it's better not to continue your gambling participation.

It's a choice while you are not engaged that much, as once you involve yourself too much, you'll
find it difficult to control and you may do something that you never imagine that you can.
One very common problem is that many people do not believe on theoretical evidence and instead they rely almost exclusively on empirical evidence to create their beliefs, so you could show them the calculations why winning long term and beating the casinos is not possible, but they will ignore you and give you examples of people which won big once or twice, so they try their luck thinking they will be able to replicate their results only to obtain disappointing results and only then they will accept you were right, but not before they lost a massive amount of money while trying to prove you wrong.
