There is no way in determining an altcoin that already have a huge market and a use case that sells to the market as well, but obviously it is the top alts in the market. If you're trying to look for a new alt that could be potentially the next big thing, I'm afraid you'll have a hard time finding it and will experience a lot of failures. You might lose more money than finding a success in a specific coin.
So, it would be wiser to just put your money to altcoins that has already been established or even bitcoin. Set a target and wait for it to pump.
