I agree with you in many words, but I am still sure that constant games can cause addiction. For example, a person will play on the first weekend, then on the second, then again, and it turns out that he will already be constantly thinking on weekdays about how to relax on weekends. Therefore, it is better not only to limit yourself in the deposit, which is very useful, but also not to make the games permanent. We need to look for other sources of entertainment, and make sure that they can fully replace gambling.
This is the only way of self-control. Tough and hard.
And let it be hard, but no one can control us as much as we do. And the ability to control yourself is very important both in gambling and in any games.
We need to always make efforts to demonstrate ourselves that we are in control even if we do not feel we are showing any signs of addiction, for example sometimes I just decide randomly to stop gambling for at least a month, and I do this because a person that really had problems controlling their gambling will never be able to do something like this, so once I spend a month or even a longer period of time without gambling I have demonstrated myself that I have no problems and I can keep gambling as usual.

It's good to take that challenge to you, as if you can really push it then you can assure to yourself that you are still in control, if you can do it from time to time and still manage to keep on what's the goal. What is important here is you know what to do and you know how to control your own self.

With such a good limitation, you can continue playing back, enjoying or aiming for something decent out of your gambling activities.

As long as you can quit the moment you decide it, then you are good to go and maybe you are still far from any possible addictions.
This mindset must we have as we all know that in the world of gambling we ourselves are the only instrument of our mind  and if we can control our self then we are safe from addiction because we decide what's wrong and what's right. And if we don't have our self control and greediness can take over us then a lot of consequences we will face because once we don't have our self control then we bet spontaneously with greediness.
You are very correct, greediness is not an emotion that should be found in a gambler, as the result of it is not always good, and does not benefit the gambler at all, there are other parts where greediness does benefit the bearer, like in the area of investment, it is commonly said that, "we should get greedy when other investors are fearful, and become fearful when other investors get greedy", this is some thing I've practiced one or two times and it helped me earn a nice profit...

But then, when it comes to gambling, we should completely do away with greed, as it will bring no benefit to the gambler, other than losses and more losses, and maybe an addiction will follow, if the gambler is not yet addicted.
