We sold flop players and now replacing them with quality and hurry players.. the old players will full of themselves because they didn't show any reason not to sell them, none of them could come up with any individual brilliance to win Chelsea games. I want Pochettino to kick off his era with back to back wins so he can build confidence in the new squad and use them effectively to win games. We shouldn't be settling for less as we'll get more disappointed doing exactly that.
Celsea should be challenging for the title next season and that's how they can get back the honor of the club. Chelsea isn't known for how they ended last season, they're known for winning. We aren't over expecting them to win the race but they should be in the conversation and be challenging other top clubs. It's better we're competing with the rest of the clubs then just settling for finishing top half of the table. . Pochettino isn't under any pressure but he should used this opportunity to mark his name in the premier league, this is his return and he should make use of the opportunity well.
I admire the moves and decisions Pochettino is taking at this early stages of his appointment to turn things around. He has successfully removed players who are not giving everything to improve the team and giving space for new recruitment to boost the strength of the team. I am not expecting Chelsea to start winning every game as soon as the league resumes but they will be much better than they were last season and gradually get back to winning ways again and competing against the top performing teams in the league.
I think Pochettino's arrival is a little different from previous coaches like Lampard and Potter. Pochettino has managed to take some of the best steps for Chelsea, selling several players who were unable to make a significant contribution to Chelsea's progress, this is a good move and I am impressed with some of the other options Pochettino has taken. Yes I agree, I myself would not expect anything significant from Chelsea in the Premier League next season, because obviously Pochettino is quite difficult to make a significant impact in some competitions. But at least there will be a little change from The Blues that they will show, this is good enough to start the progress of a club that is on the decline. I hope the fans can understand what a proud club they are, and don't expect anything significant in the Premier League next season.
But it remains unanswered whether those players were unable to contribute because they didn't have enough quality or whether they didn't have the right coach who understands how to make them play their best. He is making some decisions now and any new player that he is now signing will be under scrutiny and eventually it is Poechettino's responsibility that the team works again. A new start is good for Chelsea as everything is put back to zero and that ensures that nobody will abuse any excuses that are based on what happened in the past.
As for the fans I think they do have high expectations and that is quite normal. Otherwise they wouldn't be real Chelsea fans. They can fully concentrate on the Premier League and try to achieve the maximum there. Not qualifying for the Champions League would be a bummer.
