In fact, the CCAF has determined that the bitcoin industry uses a significant amount of renewable energy, sometimes more than half, depending on the jurisdiction. This is a testament to the industry's commitment to sustainability and its potential role in the green revolution.


That's a lie, Bitcoin miners, just like any other businesses, don't care about environment, what they care about is making more money. If renewables are cheaper the miners use them, if not, they use fossil fuels. Bitcoin investment and mining lobby is interested in pushing the narrative that Bitcoin is clean and good for environment, the anti-Bitcoin lobby pushes the opposite narrative that Bitcoin boils the planet.

But the 125 TWh is a tiny share in global greenhouse emissions, so focusing on Bitcoin when the talk is about global warming is absurd and sometimes might even be a distraction from the actual offenders, like cars and meat industry.
