But there is still a need for more transfers if they aim to do some noteworthy things in the Champions League. It is important for the EPL and CL both of course.
Newcastle United is a rich team that did not decide to spend a lot of money on the transfer of big players. Not many famous players come there. It seems that they are comfortable in the current state. They prefer players who work hard for the team, not star players. Of course, if you want to get good achievements in the EPL, UCL and league cups, Newcastle must have a balanced team between main players and substitutes. The current conditions don't show that, but it seems that if they don't have other transfer targets it will be difficult to stay in the UCL.
Newcastle is still very confident with the squad they currently have, their status as an upstart team in the EPL doesn't make them spend too much money to bring in quality players in the transfer market. The confidence that Newcastle has is too much for me, Newcastle's performance in the EPL last season was not very consistent even though they were able to finish in the top four.
UCL is more difficult than the domestic league, teams that don't perform consistently will be eliminated, while in the Domestic League they still have a chance to improve their performance in the next match. The balance of the team needs to be maintained, core players and reserves must have the same quality. I'm not sure Newcastle can survive in the UCL all the way to the quarter-finals with the current squad.
