Manchester United have improved their performance quite much since Erik ten Hag took over. He started with finishing in top four and qualifying for the Champions League already. This is a really good start but the board and fans will expect more than this next season. Manchester United will need to be in a title challenge as soon as possible like in the old times.
The current squad is actually quite good for that goal but there is still some weakness. They really need a striker and goalkeeper signings now. Onana deal is nearly done though like I said before. But it is still ambiguous who they will go for when it comes to striker signing. I said Hojlund before but I haven't heard of any offer.

But then everyone wants more for Manchester United but I do not agree with you, the current squad cannot do anything more than they did last season if they do not make significant changes to the squad.
Do you remember that at a time Manchester United would have been strong contenders of the English Premier League title if they got squad depth. They were reusing their squad like Arsenal and eventually caught up by fatigue.
I have also stated that there is still some weakness in the squad. After improving the quality of all areas to an acceptable level they will be fully ready to fight for the Premier League title finally. Erik ten Hag already has strategies which work really well. As long as he has the kind of squad in his hands there is nothing stopping from fighting for the league title seriously.
Fighting against Manchester City won't be easy at all. But maybe they can at least be the second strongest team of the league this season. Because we don't know if Arsenal can keep this level this season as well. They have a quite young squad which doesn't reassure high consistency over years.
I'm not a fan of Ten Hag at all, I know he is famous for the hard training he makes for the players and he is also famous for punishing players after they make mistakes, maybe this was the reason for Manchester United took better result after Ten Hag joined there, but still I can't forget the game they had against Liverpool in this season and Ten Hag had a bad performance there, maybe this is a good reason to say even Tenb Hag can make mistakes.
But still, he made a revolution after joining Manchester United.
