You might compare a drunk person doing wrong things, and a gambler that is just so into the games that they are deciding to put more and more money in there to "recover" their losses.

It's a similar state really, where you are not thinking straight, and just want the benefit right now. In both cases most of the time you end up in a worse situation the next day after a day of bad decisions.

The biggest stupidity of gamblers is all-in bets in the desire to win back a loss. In this case, it is impossible to win, because after the next loss, this player will again try to repeat the same thing, and in the end he will still lose everything. There is no need to think that such people have any chances for a positive outcome.

Betting in the name of winning back what you have lost is really a risky move. This is because, oftentimes, people are not in their best state after suffering several or consecutive losses. These gamblers do not possess the right and enough mental headspace to accommodate another stressor due to the previous strains from over thinking on how would they get their money. Hence, instead of having a good outcome, most of the times, they just suffer from another loss since they decided impulsively. It isn't really a good idea to have your losses or winnings as your driving force to bet or play despite the chances of you winning is low. It's pure stupidity and it reeks being irresponsible and oblivious of your behavior and not analyzing how it might affect you afterwards.
