It's for their own good so they need to apply what is being told by the users here. Pre-sale is usually shorter than a normal selling period but I think most projects has more than 7 days allocation. It can again be beneficial to their project to gather more funds as early as possible, to be used for their operations and to the development of the project.
Signature campaign is usually being requested by the users in the forum but they can also do a bounty campaign along with it if they want more reach and/or if they have more budget. The last important thing for a project to be successful is their activity in their communities most especially here in Bitcointalk.
