Yes, there are thousands of cryptocurrencies in the space, but the majority are only shitcoins, and you can likely accumulate a whole lot of shitcoins if you want to invest in Altcoins, unless the person is ready to just risk their funds. Although there is no investment that has no risk, in terms of cryptocurrency Investment, Bitcoin is more appropriate to invest your funds in with the hope of making future profits. I believe that investing in altcoins is only trying your luck because you are not very sure if the project can last more than two years to even earn you any profit in the future.
