Well that's true. It's like forcing someone that isn't willing to change to a rehab center and doing the same thing after getting out of a rehab. It's just wasting resources, money and effort on someone that no plan in doing the right thing for himself. It's hard to help gambling addicts if they aren't willing to help themselves knowing how easy it is for them to access casino nowadays. A gambling addict that has a resolve to change even without any help is much better than a person who has all the help but isn't willing to change at all.
If it like that, the only way is when after a gambling addict or an ordinary gambler who has finished going through rehabilitation but still has thought of gambling, it better to exile or move to another city far from the gambling industry or in other ways such as giving a job or any activity that can divert his mind to get used to not thinking about gambling.
But even if the gambler has self-awareness to heal himself there should be someone who really cares about helping that person to stop gambling permanently.
We must not wait until a gambling addict discovered that they are addicted and wants solution before we help them. Most of the addicts are not aware that they are addicted and if you wait until they realise that they are addicted it might never happen. So it is important that when you discover that someone has been addicted you find a way to talk to them. But if your efforts fail you can compel them to rehabilitation
When they live a new life in the rehab centre, they would then understand that the life they we are leaving before rehabilitation was a wasteful and addictive life.
