Manchester City for a fact has lost few of their players that helped the club win treble last season but that doesn't stop them from being the strongest English Premier League club at the moment.
After the departure of IIkay Gundogan, he was replaced with former Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic and which I think is a perfect replacement and now that Riyad Mahrez is gone City still possess squad that's capable of winning as much as they won last season
Yes, for now we have seen a growing issue where Mahrez is likely to leave Manchester City and join Al-Ahli. Even in the progress of the transfer saga, it has been ensured that Al Ahli will get Mahrez in this transfer window. Even the position left by Mahrez doesn't really worry us because Grealish could play in that position if Guardiola wants him in that position. So I say that Manchester City still has a stock of quality players that keeps them from losing balance if their players leave in this transfer window.

However, Pep Guardiola is also worried that he will soon recruit the right replacement for the place left by Mahrez. Raphinha is the target of Pep Guardiola in this transfer window. I am sure he will be interested in joining Manchester City if Manchester City makes an offer for him.

Ilkay Gundogan made a big contribution to the team. I doubt his replacement will be able to have the same effect, so I can't be sure whether City are losing strength before the games start.

Guardiola can build a squad with many alternatives. So he can easily overcome this situation. What I'm worried about is how much the departure of some players will or won't hurt the strength of the team when City have had such a good season.
When he let go of Gundogan and Pep brought in Kovacic then he realised that it could be fulfilled. The doubts will definitely be there but Pep will always give his best and there is no way he would have brought Kovavic without some consideration.
Right now they just have to focus on what they're going to do, Pep knows that there might be some adjustments with the new players in the empty squad but on the other hand he's always cool-headed and anticipates everything. I believe in Pep's choice although there are definitely some differences between Gundogan and Kovavic but of course we also have to see that Kovavic is not as bad as he looks and even in terms of experience and big competition he has got that not only at Chelsea but at Madrid and Inter Milan. So with the experience he has, of course I think Pep's choice will not be wrong.
