The success that Manchester City achieved last season was the result of the hard work they have done so far, Pep Guardiola's role is certainly inseparable from the success achieved by Manchester City. I can't say Manchester City was the best team last season, but after seeing the reality and the results that Manchester City got in several competitions, people can draw conclusions with the results that have been achieved.
You don't have to admit that Manchester City were the best team last season but the world has recognized it since they won the treble. I admit that Manchester City were the best team in England and in Europe last season, but I'm sure some people will never admit that. Apart from all that, everyone is free to have an opinion even though Manchester City can prove it by winning the title.
Next season everything could be different so Manchester City will never have any guarantees of defending their title. All the teams that are participant of the Champions League have made preparations including signing several new players, so the competition will be even more difficult.
