During the last season, Liverpool performed well and even came very close to winning a champions league ticket for the next season, but in the end, they didn't have the potential to win that ticket and they lost it to Newcastle United. As Liverpool is currently in good form, I think it is possible for them to be an excellent candidate for the Europa League next year.
Alot of things really go wrong for elite clubs, in the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, all these elite clubs failed to qualify for UCL spot. Jurgen Klopp must assume responsibility this season; fans expect the team to return to their outstanding structure, and hopefully they will, since with the trending recruitment of midfielders, a lot of things will change for the better. Liverpool messed up their performance, looking like an elite club easily defeated by average clubs, and the reds are struggling just to qualify for the Europa League after a disastrous exit from the UEFA Champions League.
Two of the three elite clubs that failed to qualify for the Champions League this season have made major overhauls in their squads to aim for a better season than the previous season. Chelsea and Liverpool have brought in several quality players to improve the quality of the team to compete at the top of the premier league standings. Chelsea are quite serious in rearranging their squad, they are doing a major overhaul in the squad as well as bringing in a new coach.
Liverpool who have qualified for the Europa League this season, certainly want to perform optimally, Jurgen Klopp has replaced several players in different positions in order to maintain their chances of being in the top four and hopes of going further in the Europa League. Tottenham which seems too economical to spend money in the transfer market, will experience difficulties this season, the increasingly competitive Premier League makes Tottenham chances even slimmer to finish in the European zone if they don't bring in some great players.
