These pre-game seasons are quite worthless when it comes to their meaningfulness for the real season. Of course you could say that Nunez scored a few goals, but against whom? Yesterday they played against Greuther Furth, a 2. Bundesliga team from Germany and they played 4-4. Now is that a good result for Liverpool and does it mean that Nunez is the right guy because he scored 2 goals in an 8 goals game against a 2. Bundesliga team? This is really meaningless in my opinion. The first real test will be against Chelsea when the new season starts.

The name "pre-season match" itself implies that it's premature to make definitive judgments. We all recognize that friendly matches are about playing amicably and entertaining the hosts. Had it been a Premier League game, the intensity, and competition would be on another level. Nunes' performance wasn't terrible, and Salah's assists confirmed his prowess as a skilled winger. I'm eagerly anticipating Nunes coming back even stronger when the full season kicks off; it'll be a thrilling sight to witness Gakpo in action once more.

The Chelsea team you're eagerly looking forward to might end up disappointing you when they face Liverpool at the beginning of the season. Based on their performance in the pre-season match, they don't seem to be different from Liverpool. Emotions are running mixed in the Chelsea camp, but it's too early to draw conclusions, we'll need to wait until at least five matches have been played to identify the strengths and weaknesses of most teams. However, I remain hopeful that Chelsea and Liverpool will secure an early spot in the top 4, similar to how Arsenal started last season and maintained their position until the end of the season.
