Manchester United's striker shortage is not a big problem right now, I think. Rashford can be considered for that area. If they can get Harry Kane it would be a nice extra deal but I can't imagine Tottenham selling him to a competitor. So I think this possibility is slim. But Hojlund will strengthen them, that's for sure.
Rashford isn't so good in the central attacking position, he is better on the left side of attack, and Erik ten hag would know that if he wants to harness the full potential of his best attacker, he'd have to play him in his favorite position.
Having said that, Harry Kane doesn't seem to be serious about leaving Spurs, if he is; he would have handed in a transfer request, other than that, it would be impossible for Manchester United to try and reach an agreement with Spurs/Daniel Levy for Harry Kane. I don't know much about Hojlund, but i think Atalanta are asking for too much for the Danish international, if they don't reduce their valuation of the striker, Manchester United might be forced to walk away from the deal.
Actually Rashford can operate as a center attack, however, Ten Hag cannot only rely on him. as we know in the last season, when Rashford has decreased, he has difficulty returning to his best form. therefore, Ten Hag wanted a pure striker they could rely on when it came to scoring goals. There are several names on Manchester United's target list in this window, namely Harry Kane, Kolo Muani and several other names. but unfortunately, Frankfurt prices strikernya high. Tottenham is no exception, Ten Hag wants this player. however, the Spurs will not let Kane go to their rival.
Speaking of Rasmus Hojlud, the last time I read news regarding this rumour. Man United will refuse to bid in excess of £60m for Rasmus Hojlund, with reports suggesting several alternatives are being explored including one that has been tested by Erik Ten Hag. but regardless, Man United have agreed personal terms with the Denmark international who is thought to be keen to join the Red Devils. also, Hojlund was United's main target. only, if Atlanta doesn't strike an unattainable deal, other targets will be explored. Ten Hag explores "creative" alternatives. So, let's wait and see how Ten Hag continues with what he wants to get the ideal striker for his team.
