That didn't happen until the president, Joan Laporta, fired him and named Xavi Hernandez as a prospective replacement. Since then, everything at Camp Nou has improved.
You know a lot about Barcelona's situation with previous coaches, so of course you can really compare him to Xavi. Since Xavi signed a contract with Barcelona, then from that moment I started to believe he could bring Barcelona to a different level. He is a former player who has Barcelona DNA and understands the philosophy of the game, but even if he needs time to adjust he will surely find success with Barcelona.
