Basically, if gambling is in the blood of those who gamble, it is very difficult to get out of it. A gambling addict can never stop gambling, just like a drug addict can never stop intoxicating for a day, same is the case with a gambler. Must control oneself while gambling so as not to become addicted to gambling. And if you can control yourself from this while gambling, then you can prevent yourself from becoming addicted to gambling in the future only if you do not harm yourself in the future by gambling.
Recently, I came up with the idea that addicted people need to watch videos from interviews with the same addicted people as they are more often. I saw a couple of these videos, where people talk about how they started playing (spontaneously) and how they sank to the bottom. It's really scary. They also tell how they live now, mostly with huge debts that they are trying to pay off.
In these videos they would recognize themselves, which could prevent them from playing out of control.
Educational videos from psychiatrists or personal experiences from gamblers who quit are actually very good for helping gambling addicts get rid of their habit, i took a few paragraphs from an article aimed at gambling addicts,
Remember that quitting gambling addiction is a unique journey for each individual. The process of quitting addiction will not last overnight. Give yourself time and patience to face this challenge. besides that it is also important for you to recognize situations or emotions that trigger the desire to gamble, and find ways to deal with them in a healthier way.
The point is that stopping gambling is impossible IF the person does not have a great desire to stop gambling activities that have gone too far. but if a gambling addict is able to recover from his addiction and become a responsible gambler, it is not impossible that he will become a professional gambler
(good or bad depending on the person's choice)
