In the Champions League, Arsenal would play as a normal team, winning only a few games before being eliminated. The premier league matches, however, are where their focus and strength would be on to demonstrate that they can win the premier league this coming season after losing to Manchester City last season.
Arsenal is still assembling the team into a formidable one, as we all know, and has not yet attained the status necessary to win the Champions League. They will eventually accomplish that, but it will take them a long year to get the chance to lift the champions league trophy. For this season and the upper one, they are going to place more of an emphasis on the premier league than the champions league.
Arsenal is a competitive club, but I don't see them winning any significant title next season, they will only compete but will relent along the line. Mikel Arteta did an excellent job bringing in quality players this summer, and he is eager to face new challenges, perhapes things are not done that way, waking up and thinking of winning the UEFACL, they need to be consistent in their spectacular performance. Arsenal is developing, and this is not their time to win the UEFA Champions League; they will only compete with elite teams, and it will not surprise me if they are eliminated. We already know which clubs will advance to the knockout stage and finals, and the Gunners are not one of them.
I don't think, Arsenal will still experience some challenges they experienced last season that made them not to lift any title through out the season because of the poor performance. I believe Arsenal coach will do everything possible in this summer to work on some of their players to ensure they maintain a good stand in this season to bring progress to the team. If Arsenal strikers can demonstrate what they displayed to defeated Barcelona 5-3 in their pre-season match few days ago, show that they will not allow any team to disgrace them in the UEFA champions league competition because they have what it takes to embrace the title in this season.
