Leipzig have really made a solid sum of money in player sales during this summer. They have lost quite much strength at the same time but I don't think they are very unhappy with the current situation now. Because they aren't much different than Dortmund on this topic. Their main vision is also to make as much profit as possible by being active in the transfer market.

In this way they are still making a lot of money even though they don't win the Bundesliga title. This is at least enough to keep their finances strong.

To be able to become more competitive for titles they need to build their squad according to it and focus on keeping their players for a long time instead.

Leipzig was very successful last year and was appreciated by everyone. But I don't think they have made good transfers for this season. If you are making money by selling the players who made the team successful, you should at least make a few new transfers. But they are not very successful in this regard. If they see football as just making money, they're doing it well, but I think they shouldn't do this in order for the team to be at the top every year. I wonder how many years Openda and Baumgartner will continue to play. They bought players as if they were investing Cheesy

Especially the Openda transfer is intriguing to me. Because he was really impressive while playing for Lens last season. That season was the time for him to shine to get offers from bigger teams. He has really done it by scoring a lot of goals and playing an important role in Lens' success in the Ligue 1.

But now he has better be ready for a bigger competition. Because there are three more strikers like Werner, Sesko and Poulsen. Especially Sesko is another new arrival who is a quite promising striker at the same time. Openda will need to work harder now.
Most teams are not all out in challenge for a trophy or top European competitions, i refer to them as business teams because they don't care about developing to a point of winning a trophy so far they get better performance and maybe settle in top 5 in the table they're good to go and Leipzig is one of those club that does such, they buy players across Europe for cheaper prices train  them to the level of reaching a world class and sale them out to top European clubs for a higher fees.
And that is the same fate sesko might have maybe over a season or two, he's a very good prospect with good goal scoring ability and have been getting enquiries from top clubs even before going to his present club, now they'll train him and feature him regularly to bring out his best and get the attention of more top clubs which in return would make his price to increase and they sell him when they feel it's  the right time for a very huge amount, that's a really good business.
