I can't blame Pep Guardiola for this result and say he is guilty of losing the game just because of not placing Haaland in another position or because of replacing Haaland and Palmer. Pep Guardiola is a wise coach and he proved it in the last season when they won many titles with this coach but still Guardiola can make mistakes, even the greatest coach in the world can make mistakes.
But I think the main reason for Macnshter City to lose that game was not Guardiola. But it was because of Haaland.
It doesn't matter who starts and who sits on the bench, both teams did portrayed their best on the pitch, I guessed the best team wins. Manchester city have achieved quite alot during Pep Guardiola incharged, losing do happen to other elite clubs, and Manchester city was not exempted. The game was tough for both sides, the cityzens keep domination while the gunners were extremely defensive, securing their territory with everything they had. Mikel Arteta boosts the moral of the fans with additional potential new players in the squad, I would say that Arsenal is quite different from the one we met.
I wonder why Guardiola didn't prefer Ederson for this game. Maybe he wasn't caring about this title that much but then I think he would have made a bigger rotation. Their opponent was Arsenal in the end so he should have started this game with all of their main players including the goalkeeper.
In that case this might have even affected the direction of this game much more. Ederson could have performed much better on penalty shoot-outs.
