£30 million paid by West Ham to sign Maguire is a reasonable fee compared to the initial £20 million that was rejected for a player signed in 2019 with a record fee of £80 million for a defender, Maguire took the decision to join West Ham for his best interest, firstly he will enjoy a regular playing time to put his international duty on track else hevwould have been benched in Man Utd by Erik ten Hag who has five defenders in the squad such as Martinez, Varane, Lindelof, Evans and Shaw, lastly there will be ease of pressure on him while playing for West Ham compared to Man Utd where too much pressure on him always resulted to commit errors during matches, I think he will settle down well and perform better in his new club.
It is true that this is a wise move to move from Man United, because Maguire is no longer included in Erik Ten Hag main squad list. United stripped Captaincy means that Ten Hag no longer needs him in the squad, and Maguire will have to drop out for minutes to save his England place.
If he can be consistent with his best performances like when he was defending Liecester City, of course Maguire will still be called upon to strengthen the England National Team.
