Burnley vs Manchester City - at Turf Moor Stadium.

This is the opening match for the 2023-2024 Premier League season. Burnley doesn't seem to have many chances to win this match against the reigning Premier League champions. Manchester City has a high probability of winning the match so the odds offered won't be very favorable. I believe Manchester City can win the game by 3 more goals, but that's just a completely dicey prediction for the start of the season.
The coach of Burnley is a coach that was once a player in Manchester City, I do not know how that is supposed to give him an advantage, but that is some kind of advantage I think. Also you cannot underestimate teams that are fresh from relegation, sometimes their blood is hot, and with that motivation of being in the premier league can make them want to win the reigning premier league champions as a big statement. They can do it if Manchester City do not put up a good performance. There is also the advantage that they are playing this game at home in front of their supporters, that can help give them morale and boost.
I never believed in this idea that a former player could have a real advantage if he plays against his former team as a coach. Maybe there are little details he can use because he knows how Guardiola works, but how likely is it that this gives a valuable advantage? What could there be that Kompany knows that most others don't know? This is one of the details that gets hyped before a game, but no. It is not like Guardiola is often adjusting his strategy and Kompany is the one who knows it. High possession game with countess top accuracy passes and Haaland as a striker. What else does a coach need to know to play against Manchester City?

Burnley's coach is an ex-Manchester City player but they won't get any special favours. Guardiola's match tactics are quite good. And Manchester City's squad is also strong. So I think Burnley's chances of doing well in this match are very low.

I have never seen Burnley win against Manchester City. I checked the results of the last 10 matches between these two teams. Burnley can't score any points in a single match. They lost every match. And in these 10 matches Burnley have conceded 35 goals and scored just one. For these reasons, I don't see any chance of Burnley picking up points against Manchester City, even though this match is Burnley's home game.
