We never know until it happened. I'm following that statement in regard to changes for past decades that culture still being practiced even there are places which equal rights are already enjoyed, there are still places that this kind of rights are not. Just like you said, in middle east where religions are really strict in terms of women's right, they are in need to follow that and they don't have any option as the law also patronizing that regulations.
On the other side, where liberated country from western side where you can usually see women who can practice what men can do, as just an ordinary thing to enjoy.

And in most time, the women are defeated and restricted to only a few activities along such religious line of thought.
