If there wasn't any offside on Chilwell's goal maybe things would have been much more different for the Chelsea - Liverpool game. But it was still not seeming easy for Chelsea to win the game of course. They had a quite big dominance in ball possession but when it comes to finding chances there wasn't a big difference.
The problem for Liverpool was that they had big problems on finding the target. Despite 13 goal attempts only 1 of them was on target which ended up with a goal. It looks like Liverpool aren't quite ready for the season as well. But this is only the beginning so let's see the next ones.
Since we are still in the first weeks of the league, I don't want to criticize too much. I actually liked Chelsea's game in this match. Because last season they had a hard time finding a position and carrying the ball to the opponent's court. Compared to the matches last season, they found a more comfortable position in this match.
I don't think Liverpool is ready for the league yet. They create a lot of chances, but they can't score. They cannot evaluate the positions they produce.
Since we are in the first weeks, we can watch such matches of big teams. I'm sure they will play better football every week.
Actually, what Chelsea showed in this match was truly extraordinary. And I think if Nkunku was on the pitch in that match then Chelsea would be able to score at least 1 more goal. But so far Pochettino really deserves appreciation for having succeeded in making Chelsea a club that must be respected again in the Premier League. Because in this match, of course, Chelsea's performance was far better than last season.
And actually Liverpool did have more wasted opportunities in this match. But I think the Liverpool players did some pretty great long-range shots. Unfortunately, the accuracy of their shots is not good enough. But yeah from week to week this club is definitely getting better. M. Salah's shot in the first half was also very good and almost scored a goal. It's just that his shot had to hit the goalpost.
a draw isn't too bad to start the season.
@Jatiluhung this is just the start and if Chelsea’s board can be patient with Poch then he can transform Chelsea into one of the best team but it’ll take lots of time and I hope that the board doesn’t act impatiently like they did last season by constantly sacking their managers.
Furthermore while both Chelsea and Liverpool earned a point they have already dropped 2 points and this season every point will matter because Arsenal and City will not be dropping many points hence both team’s need to step up and perform even better from now on.
