At least Man United managed to pack the first three points even though they were only able to beat Wolves with a narrow score of 1-0. Ten Hag clearly wanted his team to win in their first match, they managed to win in front of their supporters even though the results were not optimal. Ten Hag needed to break the ice for the players to connect with each other in developing a rhythm of play, the first match did not go as expected, Man United players were not optimal in taking advantage of opportunities and a style of play that was easy for opposing players to predict. The process of forming a squad to connect with each other takes time until the next few matches, I think Ten Hag is able to do it based on the success achieved by Man United last season.
Manchester United did not expect that Wolves will be as difficult as they were to beat. Manchester United were extremely Lucky thanks to Bissaka and Varane. Manchester United did not look like themselves and were unable to find the chemistry and create good chances. If wolves had not been unlucky and lacking in goal scoring finishing, they would have won that game by at least three goals because they were able to create very good chances for themselves, some of which were wasted, others were saved. The new coach of Wolves did a good job preparing his players for their first game and against such a big opponent. There is so much for them to improve on.
