I have checked their onion website several times today (and immediately after reading your post) and it is definitely not down. The Whirlwind website is working.
Notes are still being generated and the process allowing customers to deposit funds is still there. Basically, every front-end action seems to be working but behind the scenes the functionality is not working.

The onion URL is now down since a few hours.
- Either the server has been shut down and we can say it's now "officially" the end of the service
- Either the server is down because there is someone working on the website.
When I've read they should come back tomorrow, I consider it can take longer. We all have a life and sleep. So if it takes more than 24 hours, I'm not bothered. I'm the kind of guy who say "Don't worry miss, I'll be here at 8.00 am" but the truth is I come at 6.00 pm
