To be Frank Chelsea has a chance to qualify for the next year Champions league, because they are not playing any European competitions this season, their focus should be the league cups and premier league games. They have many chances to fight for the champions league spot. Because Manchester city, man utd , Newcastle and Arsenal Will be playing many games than Chelsea this this season, Chelsea should be thinking on how to make the top Four at the end of the season.
Although the way Chelsea played against Liverpool last weekend one could easily see that they have seriously improved above last season and should they keep such performance they would be on course to qualify for the champions league next season or even challenge for the league title too. Nonetheless I don’t see the lack of European competitions not be played as an advantage because many clubs in the past have done this in the past and it didn’t work for them. Clubs playing midweek matches tend to be have match fitness to play on weekends than waiting to play just every seven days. Arsenal had same mentality last season and exited the Europa league and even FA cup hoping that it would help them to clinch the League title but at the end they lost it to a club with many competitions they played in
