The Manchester United vs Tottenham and Manchester vs Newcastle United matches are the games of the weekend that I look forward to. You might want to right off Tottenham because of the departure of Harry and also the inexperienced manager that's still trying to put his team together. Not forgetting the injury list which is a major concern but I'm also not impressed with Manchester United performance against Wolves as they managed to win the game and I believe they are far from their best. While the odds might look to be in their favour I won't be surprised if the draw or lose the game against spurs.
The Manchester City vs Newcastle game is another interesting game. The EPL champion started their campaign on a winning note and same with the Magpies who made a huge statement that they are title contenders by beating Aston villa 5 - 1. Last season on both encounters the Citizens won one and drew, this time around maybe Newcastle United could pull some surprises. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Exactly both of these matches are perfect for game week 2. Tottenham are still yet to find their rhythm which could be basically because Harry Kane but also because of the way they also ended last season. Ange is trying to implement new ideas and if we watch the match against Brentford, we could simply see that they hold on to possession of the ball very often and were quick to recover once it is in the opposite hands. But one thing still stands that needs attention. The issue of the defense, they were actually off just like last season and conceded many goals. The game against United will help them to access themselves against the top four contenders.
As for Manchester United, this is also a perfect test for them. The game against wolves was really not the United. They all look like a selected team who haven’t played along aside each others before. The United major problem is the midfield because both Bruno and Mount has not gotten any Chemistry between themselves. The both players operate as No 8s and with this they expose Casemiro at the DM and many teams will exploit this. So the game away to spurs will tell if Ten Hag army are truly ready. This match will also kick start whether you United are ready to compete with top teams this season.
As for the Manchester city and Newcastle match it is also a matter of holding on to the top of table. Both clubs won their first games In stellar performances but against each other we will see who wins. Newcastle seriously do not deserve to be underestimated this season because they certainly have that squad to go to toe with any team. As for Manchester city, the absence of KDB will affect them but this match will prove how they will line up and play in the absence of KDB
