There is nothing wrong with that because they have their own focus. The reason Madrid are focusing on the Champions League is because they are not in good shape and are already far behind Barcelona in La Liga so with some consideration they prefer to be in the Champions League which is also risky.
Now they have a pretty good spirit by having new strength and with young players and this can be used as a pretty good capital for Madrid.
But in this case Ancelotti must have several schemes if in the end the current formation with Vini and Rodrigo does not work well then they can still look for new alternatives in the attacking pattern.
Real Madrid's performance in the last two matches shows that they are ready to do something better this season. I agree as long as Ancelotti's plan actually works but I believe he will struggle to get the best out of his team if one or two of his players get injured.
