It is probably too early to draw conclusions about the position of the teams in the standings. There were only two matches. Yes, Sevilla failed to pick up points in these two games and they started this season very badly, but maybe they can improve in the future.

I hope so but let this club try to rebuild the club after it was facing financial trouble. I would not blame sevilla as the club is still in a difficult position right now. Even sevilla was declaring to sell all of players on its main squad to raise at least 81 millions - 100 millions to pay off the debt.
Sevilla needs to start from the bottom again. The club already sold some important players which were affecting the performance of the club. Sevilla deserves more chance to compete with another club in sevilla.
It's so annoying to see the performance from sevilla has been decreasing so hard. I expect sevilla to come back again as soon as possible. Sevilla needs to play in UCL as well.

This is a bad story, I'm very sorry, but hadn't they won the Europa League? How come they got reduced with all these debts? I always say that modern football is too tied to money, that players get too much money and that they are sold for exaggerated prices

Most of the clubs in La Liga are in debt and I believe that this probably is the same for almost any club in any league...

But when you search for the details, their debt seems to be relatively low. It says that they have 90m euros in debt, which I think should still be manageable for them.

Winning trophies doesn't really change that much I think. If you consider the salaries that are being paid to top players, it is almost as if they could pay two or three of their best players with the revenue they made from winning the Europa League. It is a great example that shows how weird everything is when a club can't even ay the players with the money they get from winning trophies.

In recent years, almost in all European leagues, many teams have financial problems and debts. Player salaries have now reached insane figures! stadium revenues don't even cover 1/4 of the wage bill and winning trophies often only serves to reduce debt. See for example in Italy, Inter despite having played the Champions League final and collected more than 100 million from UEFA still has more than 200 million debts which, if not paid by May 2024, will be forced to sell shares to Oakthree. so I'm not surprised that Sevilla sail in the same waters, despite the victory of the Europa League they continue to have their accounts in the red. it's a shame because in any case we are talking about a team that has 7 Europa Leagues on its bulletin board.
