sometimes I wonder what makes people change... insights? divine inspiration? changes in their neuro circuits or even neuro chemistry?
It's not clear if we have free will, but at least we have the illusion that we have it, so might as well live a life that takes advantage of that.
This might get a bit too crazy, but at a quantum level, reality doesn't really "exist" until you observe it. So, basically let's say an electron can be in many positions with different probabilities. The moment you measure it, it is exactly at one location. You can read about the double-slit experiment to have an idea of what I'm talking about:

In a way, your attention defines your life, I think it's similar to the process of observing a particle, and therefore making it "real" from potential realities that it was before.
