Suryakumar Yadav is definitely one of the best right now in the whole world. And he is definitely someone who can create different shots on the spot. So he is definitely a better T-20 player in my opinion.
Not one of the best but best T-20 batter, his ranking points suggest that despite the recent decline. At one point he was way too ahead of the rest of the batter in terms of points, at least 100 points.
It implies pure domination and it hardly happens in the ranking. I might be wrong but i think only Ab de Villiers had the same margin.
That’s because he is confident, almost always. He can hit the ball in almost any direction. And that is very necessary when you are playing the shortest format of cricket. You have to score runs, does not matter how they come. And he does that very well.
The only problem is when he is not confident, he’s going to try those things less. And so he will have to be always confident in trying different shots. A player being in form is definitely relative. And if he is in form, he is definitely a scary batsman.
T-20 and ODI are different formats and need different temperaments. The first 10-15 and last 10 overs in the ODI do need a T-20 type of aggressive approach. Middle overs are a completely different ball game and you need a fair amount of luck + bad bowling + flat deck to play attacking cricket all the time or it must be your lucky day.
So maybe it would be ideal if he comes out to bat when there are only 15-10 overs left because so far he didn't look like that he can build his inning in middle overs.
