On the contrary, I think concerning people on their lack of knowledge on how modern money works, is the source of interest. When someone asks me what's the point of bitcoin, I don't just start with 21m, censorship resistance and privacy. I respond back with a question - "Have you ever thought how modern money works?", and then I go with "Who's allowed to increase how much money there is?". And it has turned out, worryingly often, that they think the printing must happen if there are enough gold reserves. No joking. Go out and verify my claim.
