Newcastle United played better in the first half by pressing hard on Liverpool from the early minutes and in the 25th minute Gordon was able to score a goal and bring Newcastle United to a 1-0 lead until the end of the first half.
But in the second half of the game they tended to be more aggressive in attack and lost their good defensive form so that when there was a counter attack they failed to break which made Nunez comfortably score an equalizer. Not long after, Nunez scored the second goal which made Liverpool close this match by winning. I think Eddie Howe was quite disappointed with the appearance of his team in the second half because they failed to maintain the advantage they which should get 3 points.
What I've noticed so far is that Newcastle are weaker against bigger teams and losing against two big teams shows that they might not maintain the top four this season even losing to Liverpool side that played with 10men that's a disappointing defeat and the coach should definitely be disappointed at his team losing at home to a Liverpool side with 10men.
After Gordon scored the opener in the 25th minute and Van Dijk also got sent out of the pitch due to a red card,I already concluded that it's finished for Liverpool and expected Newcastle to get more goals since they were more possessive but I became the opposite because they kept missing many chances to win the game and Liverpool with the help of Nunez suprisenly turn the game around in the late minutes of the game, scoring a brace to end the match with a 1-2 win.
