After watching Cucurella's performance against Wimbledon yesterday, Manchester United are cooling their interest in the player, despite having submitted a loan proposal. They are now turning their attention to Sergio Reguilon, especially as Marcos Alonso is unwilling to leave Spain.
Have Manchester United just realized that if they bring in Cucurella this season it will only increase weaknesses in the defense line? We all know he is a left-back who has had poor quality since last season and even now he hasn't changed at all. I think Manchester United must find a replacement for Luke Shaw who really has quality and not just look for a replacement for this season. Sergio Reguilon is the only candidate who will fill the position left by Luke Shaw due to injury and now it is just a matter of negotiating the process with Spurs to carry out this transfer.
I guess so, but maybe Ten Haag sees some talent in him that others don't.
But isn't the defense line of Manchester United more or less complete or why are they still watching out for a potential substitute?
I think most of the transfers that take place either today or tomorrow have been cooking for a long time already or they are a shot from the hip, which in most cases I think does not go as planned. But if they fear to be out of defenders because of injuries or suspensions during the season, it is of course better to have a player who might not be the best, but who can still get it sorted out.
