But this does not mean that everyone cannot control the gambling activities they do. I'm sure when someone is aware of the losses in the gambling activities they are doing, they will slowly try to control them. And be a responsible gambler. And it's just a matter of time, the sooner he realizes the "loss" he is experiencing, the sooner he will try to control himself.
I have to disagree with this. Addiction isn't something you can control or choose to have it or not. Anyone is prone to addiction but on different levels. It depends on how vulnerable the person in question is. Everyone know that gambling is not always profitable and that the chances of losing are higher than those of losing but they keep playing till they become addicts. Knowing the risks doesn't exempt you from becoming an addict.
Yes, everyone under the wrong circumstances could become addicted to anything, so it is important that when we are at our most vulnerable we are as alert as we can, as for example someone which has lost a loved one could become addicted to alcohol if they begin to rely on it to endure the pain they are suffering for their loss.
Also, deep down most of those that are suffering an addiction have some sort of psychological issue that leads them in that direction, and if that issue can be solved then their addiction can be solved as well, so it is important they receive the treatment of a therapist as well, besides the treatment they are receiving to overcome their addiction.
